Residenza Cellini

Rome is one of those cities that can overwhelm, so you might consider splurging a little on your Rome hotel room to give yourself a break from the chaos outside the hotel doors. One little corner of luxury (though it’s pretty affordable as far as luxury goes) is the Residenza Cellini in Rome.

These high ratings are likely to contribute to the hotel filling up quickly, especially during the high season, so if this is the place you want to stay you’ll want to book well in advance.

Located in central Rome, the Residenza Cellini is within walking distance of major Roman tourist attractions such as the Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps (though some of those things are far enough away that you might want to consider taking the bus at least part of the way). For anything you aren’t walking to, the hotel is not far from the Piazza della Repubblica and Termini station, where you’ll find a major bus depot and a Metro stop, so the hotel is well-served by public transport as well.

The building housing the hotel dates from the 1800s, so while it’s not as ancient as some of the iconic monuments nearby it’s still a wonderfully historic building. The rooms in the Residenza Cellini range from Superior Double to Junior Suites, all of which come with well-equipped private en suite bathrooms. The bathrooms, in fact, include either Jacuzzi bathtubs or a Jacuzzi Hydrojet shower, and hairdryers come with all the rooms. The bedrooms include such perks as satellite TV, mini-bars, air conditioning, electronic safe boxes and free WiFi access.

Services offered for guests at Residenza Cellini include a nice buffet breakfast each morning in the dining room, although room service is also available if you’d like breakfast in bed!
