Italians Optimistic About 2007
2006 was a good year to be an Italian, especially if you were an Italian sports fan. First there was the win in the long-standing rivalry between Italy and Sweden in the men’s 4×10 km cross-country skiing relay in the Olympics (and on home soil, no less), then came the much-celebrated World Cup victory in Germany, and finally a win in the cycling World Championship Mens race in Salzburg. How could 2007 be any better, right?
Well, apparently 41% of Italians believe that 2007 will be better than 2006. 23% think it will be worse, 30% think it will be the same and 7% had no opinion. It’s that 7% you’ve got to be the most wary of. Especially because they put the total at 101%.
