Cheap Hotels in Palermo
Sicily’s capital city of Palermo is big enough that there is plenty to do if you stayed for weeks, and yet it remains far less popular as a tourist destination than the big cities on the mainland. As is the case with many places in southern Italy, Palermo is Italy intensified – and there’s a grittiness here that sometimes takes a little getting used to.
Despite not being as popular as cities like Rome or Venice, Palermo still offers lots of options when it comes to hotels. Because driving around in the city of Palermo is not recommended (even if you’re planning a driving tour of Sicily), it’s a good idea to find a hotel that’s in the city center close to the things you want to see and do. Then when you’re ready to get out of the city and explore the island, you can buzz out of town in your car.
