Beach resort cities in Italy aren’t necessarily havens for budget travelers, since they’re usually popular (even if they’re not full of American tourists, they’re full of European tourists) – and the Calabrian beach town of Tropea is no exception. But because Calabria tends to be less-visited than regions in the north (except by Italians, of course), it can be a better bargain.
